Natural born morena
Yes. I am a natural born morena. I don’t really care about it before. But now I guess, YES! My friends start to tease me. And I feel discriminated. Well, what’s wrong about being morena? I don’t hate it. But I hate the people around me. They just can’t understand that there is nothing wrong about it. I am a human. I also breathe, eat, talk, laugh, smile, think, cry and love like a normal human. In fact, I can do more things than them. I just can’t understand why they need to discriminate others? Why they need to emphasize the flaws of others without seeing their stupid faces first? They are not that perfect to laugh at you. Am I right? I want to defend myself but I don’t want to start a fight. It is not a big deal but hey! I’m hurt! (If only they can read this) They are thinking that it is just fine with me, because I just smile or laugh. Maybe they just can’t understand that not every joke is funny.

There’s nothing wrong if you’re dark or pale.
If you don’t feel anything bad about being a morena you’ll simply ignore their jokes. When you complain about them people usually take advantage of that.

Skin tone shouldn’t be an issue for discrimination. It sucks when people make a big deal if you’re morena or not.. that’s the natural color of a Filipina, actually. You should be proud

i think in some european countries, if you’re tan, then you’re certainly rich because only few can afford to go on tropical countries for a vacation and get that tan skintone. :lol:

You shouldn’t really mind them, dear. Insecure sila kaya they keep on teasing you. There’s nothing wrong with being morena. Yung mga maputi nga, nagbababad sa araw para lang makuha yung “tan” na gusto nila. So yeah, ignore them. They have no life.

I also find it hard to cope up with the fact that I am one of the darkest-skinned girls in our class but I don’t worry so much anymore since skin is not the only thing that’s worth admiring

I know how you feel kasi I am morena rin, and my officemates make fun of my skin color. Nakakainis no? It affects my self-esteem to be honest.
It’s not that easy to ignore them just like that kung they are always around you di ba? Tas sabi pa nila, daddy ko yung isang senior samin na medyo dark-skinned and not-so-good looking. Heh, I just smile at them and get along with their jokes. I don’t want to throw back jokes kasi I know they’ll get hurt. Mabait ako sa mga panget eh hehe
